GPS - Global Positioning System 6-Vol. Set

Now offered only on CD-ROM for
quick search and retrieval

No other set of engineering books on GPS has sold more than the famous "red books" of the Institute of Navigation.

Includes  Volume VI - GPS: Satellite Augmentation Systems.  at no increase in price.

These books have been called “the best technical core for GPS information.”-- from basic principles of GPS  satellites and receiver theory, to differential GPS and integrity monitoring.

Volume I - Principles of operation, satellite frequency standards, signal structure, nav message, control segment, user equipment, receiver test and evaluation, integration with INS, algorithm for low cost receiver, satellite-aided ATC.

Volume II - 18-satellite constellation, signal processing, digital receiver mechanization, multiplexed GPS receiver, GPS+strapdown, missile tracking, kalman filtering, sensitivity tests.

Volume III - Receiver enhancements, differential operation, combined sensor operation (JTIDS, altimeter-aiding, GPS-loran).

Volume IV - Differential GPS error sources, wide area differential GPS (WAAS), kinematic and carrier phase aided GPS, kinematic GPS, INS/GPS for precision landing, differential GPS for Cat. I, interferometric attitude and heading determination. (Partial list.)

Volume V - RAIM. Devoted completely to the important topic of integrity monitoring (essential to IFR operations) the new volume describes the two methods; (1) RAIM (Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring) - using satellites only, and (2) monitoring other sources.
RAIM Topics Include: Requirements, measuring receiver performance, pseudorange, redundant measurements, GPS integrity tests, calculating RAIM, screening bad geometry, and near-optimum fault detection.
Autonomous Integrity Monitoring with Integrated Systems: Baro altimeter aiding and clock coasting, combining with Loran, GPS and GLONASS, fault detection with inertial, soft-failure detection in a multisensor system.

Volume VI - Satellite based augmentation systems;  Wide Area Augmentation Sytem (WAAS), European Satellite Augmentation (EGNOS), extended differential GPS, wide area differential GPS, INMARSAT-3 nav signal C/A code selection, minimum operational performance standards (WAAS messaging system, integrity, ionospheric corrections, geostationary earth orbit satellite uplinks, interference, jamming and scintillation effects, availability models, interoperability, sat-based augmentation flight tests.
